Pink Tartan - fall/winter 2008

Pink Tartan takes a stab at biker chic, gold accents, and tried-and-true staples for fall/winter 2008.

Fall is a mix of looks for this popular Toronto line, starting with biker jackets and pleated skirts, a contradiction we see echoed in a variety of other skimpy juxtapositions. What season is this again? While the zippers seem a little too obvious, flashy gold trim is a well-distributed accent that spices up where it has to.

There is a little something for everyone is this collection, and Pink Tartan manages to accomplish it without diluting the look. Cream lace tops, billowing bell dresses, satin house dresses in midnight blue, and gauzy black tops all vie for attention as standout separates. It’s hard to pick a favourite, but the Nehru collar A-line black coat just looks so hot with motorcycle gloves!

Pink Tartan has always done crisp white blouses to perfection (right from their very first season), making itself a wardrobe staple for many. It’s never a bad idea to revisit the separate that first got you in the headlines, as long as it’s worked into new looks.
