Joe Fresh - fall/winter 2009

Joe Fresh gives Canada a dose of downy softness for fall-winter 2009.

Like kittens in a cotton-ball commercial, this is a collection that makes you want to reach out and touch. From looks that left little to the imagination for their translucent nature, the thicker offerings were primped, preppy looks that nuanced the private school uniform with something relaxed and saucy.

Knit sweater-dresses with striped socks are simple and clean, reminiscent of adidas Y-3’s spring-summer 2009 styling. This stab at preserving poise apparently even works on the boys, who cleaned up with white pants and mod-tinged jackets, though perhaps hiding something dark underneath.

Creative director Joe Mimran, it would appear, hints at a class war that thankfully has no clear winner.
