Dimitri Chris - fall/winter 2010

A clean crisp fall day comes as very good news, especially if you’re Master of the Hounds.

With a title like this, Dimitri Chris Alexiou’s outdoors-y fall-winter collection is meant to conjure the image of neatly dressed men who can hold a glass of wine in one hand and horse reins in the other.

Merging all the elements of an English hunt, Alexiou presented a collection of modern menswear inspired by classic sportswear in tweed and knits, as well as pants tucked into riding boots, in a traditional fall palette of grey, black, cognac, oatmeal and white. Sharp detailing such as hidden buttons, reversible jackets and tux tails with squared hems are refreshing, as are the straight-cut trousers that subtly defy the current skinny-leg trend for menswear.

Extra-wide cummerbunds are a surprising addition to the mix, but textured ties and satiny bowties only add sophistication. For a rustic feel, big knitted sweaters, chunky scarves and capes are worn over crisp shirts and under slim vests and rising jackets.

Who doesn’t love a well-dressed man?
