Chio - swimwear 2006

Though I suspect that it’s more for sexiness than for economy, Chio manages to make two outfits with the fabric other swimwear labels use to make one. Sisters Stefania and Maria Cristina Di Simone have a more demure take on swim fashion than most of their compatriots.
What’s wrong with looking sophisticated while working on your tan next summer? The proof that one-pieces don’t have to be the shy, boring cousin of the bikini is seen in the powder-blue model, tantalizing with a tummy-hole. Harrod’s in England and Barney’s in the U.S. have evidently bought into the idea.
The gingham checks in sky blue, surrounded by chantilly lace, are reminiscent of Bridgette Bardot and other 60’s screen stars in their more innocent moments. It’s with more volume that the originality factor shoots up. The green lamé wraparound bikini criss-crosses the front no less than two times, and looks remarkably easy to shimmy in and out of.
