Nada - spring/summer 2009

Nada bestows The Midas Touch to tops, blouses, and dresses in classical forms.

Nada’s spring/summer 2009 collection ‘Athena’ draws inspiration from the Greek Goddess of War, Wisdom, and the Arts. Grecian-inspired draping is performed using sensuous, generous fabrics complimented by hand-done embellishment. A flowing, black chiffon dress is twisted into braided shoulder straps, and then runs free again down the back. Off-the-shoulder tops and dresses in dissolute, tie-dyed colours lead to a number of simple but strong silhouettes.

The shimmering gold-sequinned tops and dresses are far from being protective, military chain-mail, but rather, they lead the charge for Nada’s flashy evening wear pieces. The petal-hemmed pink chiffon tunic shows the unity of the collection: classical Greek styling jazzed up with gold accents, for a thoroughly modern result.
