Pink Tartan - spring/summer 2009

Pink Tartan works twentieth-century time travel into spring, unearthing favourite fashion looks for the retro-hound in all of us.

The 60’s coquette makes her first appearance in a cream demi-trench worn over a royal purple full-length crêpe dress, and subsequently in the V-neck leopard print dress. Then we are teased with pinstriped bikini tops, high-waist white short shorts, and other bombshell beachwear in stunningly stark cloverleaf prints. Head sashes are the accessories of choice for spring/summer 2009, and Pink Tartan puts them to fine use to recreate the Jackie O glamour of this decade.

Rewind: The collection takes a decidedly 40’s turn with a crimson felted jacket à la Burberry, all rounded pockets and dainty cuts.

Fast forward: We are thrown gently into the 80’s with zippered black stretch pants, and a snappy black leather skirt straight from a Duran Duran concert.
