Jason Meyers - spring/summer 2010

This spring, Jason Meyers’s ready-to-wear collection offers something for everyone. He aims to please in 3 tangents—little sculptural waves and folds, short form-fitting layers, and menswear-inspired looks. At times, these tangents do not quite overlap as much as run parallel to each other, so you may be hard-pressed to find a signature Meyers identity coursing through the collection.

The use of white, black, blue, purple and a neon-toned print are rather pretty, though it accentuates the disorientation and does not win over any taffeta fans. Some independent pieces stand up to scrutiny, like the magenta bolero jacket with tight high-waisted pants. We know that Meyers is not short on ideas or enthusiasm on how to do sexy, but we will all be cheering when he finds his focus.
